The Arrecife City Council anticipates that the open commercial area of the capital of Lanzarote will receive a massive influx of people this Tuesday to enjoy the New Year's Eve party, in the La Plazuela area, and other groups, who will participate in the San Silvestre Ciudad de Arrecife, where more than 1,500 people have registered.
The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the councilor of Acts and Events, Oscar López, have deployed several portable urinals to reinforce hygiene in both events, which are expected to be massive. These facilities, with permanent cleaning, have accessible urinals for people with reduced mobility.
From the City Council, under the supervision of the Department of Acts and Events, a modern container has been installed this Monday morning where toilet and sink areas are located that will allow attendees to keep these outdoor areas of the city center clean and tidy during the celebration of the New Year's Eve party, and the development of the San Silvestre Ciudad de Arrecife race. The other major sporting event, the Swim Silvestre, will be held in the area of El Reducto beach.
New Year's Eve Party in La Plazuela
This special party, in midday and afternoon hours, will have La Plazuela as its epicenter, in the historic center of this capital with port origin as a city and capital. Last year, a great atmosphere and public success were achieved.
The mayor encourages residents to attend this party, which will start at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 31, where the City Council will culminate the celebration of the 225th anniversary of the founding of the municipality of Arrecife. The musical performances will culminate at 7:00 p.m.
Yonathan de León has highlighted that on the last day of the year, the city will be the epicenter of events on the island of Lanzarote. From the morning, the El Reducto area and the Parque Islas Canarias will host the double sporting events, which will be massive, where the San Silvestre Ciudad de Arrecife and the Swim Silvestre Arrecife will take place.

The popular race San Silvestre Ciudad de Arrecife has, one more year, a design by Manrique as its official poster and in its twelfth edition they mark a new record of participants, reaching almost 1,500 runners and hanging the sign of no more places available.
The test will start at 10:00 am on December 31, with the children's race and, later, at 12:00 pm, give the start to the adults, with start and finish in the Parque Islas Canarias.
