Cultura Arrecife, directed by the councilor responsible for said area in the capital of Lanzarote, Abigail González, culminates its April program with three events that will feature the tail guitar invented by Domingo Corujo Tejera, dance and jazz, all starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture and with free admission until full capacity is reached.

The first, this Monday, the 28th, promoted by the Pueblo Maho Cultural Association, will consist of the presentation of a 'Poetic Musical Retrospective' by the aforementioned author and musician from Lanzarote, inventor of the tail guitar, who will offer a concert with said instrument and the timple as protagonists, entitled 'From folklore to classicism. In Crescendo', while taking a tour of his literary creation.

Domingo Corujo Tejera will talk about his novel 'Behind the Big House', published by the Municipal Archive of Arrecife, the collection of poems 'Passages of Life and Back', published by the Publications Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, as well as his "poemaphorisms", according to his own denomination, 'Flowers from the Dunghill', 'One Pole and Two Equators' and 'Retirement in Kindergarten' from the Timanfaya Collection of his own edition.

Tribute to the Cruz Sisters

On the other hand, and coinciding with the celebration of International Dance Day, the Culture Area of Arrecife directed by Abigail González has organized for this Tuesday, the 29th, the performance of 'María y Petra. Causa 31', by Maite Gorriz, Sonia Teruel and Renier Alfonso with which they pay tribute to the memory of the Cruz Sisters, victims of a tragic sexist murder that occurred in Lanzarote in 1919.

An artistic expression that transcends time, evoking through the language of the body and movement, the injustice and pain that marked the history of the Cruz Sisters. With a staging that combines contemporary dance with theatrical elements, the work seeks not only to remember this dark episode, but also to reflect on sexist violence.

Finally, Cultura Arrecife will culminate its April program commemorating Wednesday the 30th International Jazz Day with the concert offered by Alex Janssen Trío, made up of Uruguayan guitarist Alex Janssen, and Canarians Fran Ojeda on double bass and Alejandro García on drums.
