The next February 26 the Haría carnival begins

This year the chosen allegory for the northern carnival is 'Peter Pan in Neverland'

The Haría carnivals are just around the corner. ‘Peter Pan in Neverland’ will kick off next February 26th and will run until March 1st.

The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, invites citizens not to miss any of the activities aimed at all audiences. "It is a great opportunity to share these carnival festivities together," he emphasizes.

For his part, the Councilor for Celebrations, Alberto de León, recalls that a special bus service will be launched to assist with the festivals and the Coso, which will be held in the municipality at the end of this month. 

 

When and where? 

On Thursday, February 26, the Seniors' Carnival begins at the La Tegala Sociocultural Center in Haría, starting at 5:30 PM, with the return of the 'Piñata Carnival'. 

On Friday, February 27, the Inclusive Island Parade will take place, starting from the IES Haría parking lot and proceeding through the town's streets to the plaza. At 8:30 PM, the VII Murga Gathering will be held with the Merekumbé batucada and this year's winning murgas in Arrecife: Los Simplones, Los Intoxicados, and Los Desahuciados. The guest murga Los Gambusinos will also join them. At 11:00 PM, DJ Ángel Pérez will perform, and the popular festival will take place with the orchestras Mambo Latino and Swing del Norte. 

On Saturday, February 28, at 12:00 PM, the "pasaplaza" will take place in the Haría square. At 6:00 PM, you can enjoy the Carnival Parade with floats, "murgas," "comparsas," "batucadas," and a large number of masked participants. It will start from the cemetery parking lot and end in the Haría square. Afterwards, DJ Juan Hernández will perform, followed by a popular street party with the orchestras Banda Nueva, Furia Joven, and Rikabanda. 

The carnival program will conclude on Sunday, March 1, at 5:00 PM, with the Family Gala and the costume contest.
