The José Saramago House Museum will host the Tribute to Canarian Women Writers on September 26 and 27, a meeting to celebrate and recognize the authors of the islands, their voice and their legacy.
During two days there will be round tables, readings and spaces for reflection on the role of women in Canarian literature. It will also be an opportunity to visit the House Museum, a place that embodies the literary and humanist spirit of José Saramago.
“The voice of the writer is an act of resistance. Writing is raising your voice for yourself and for others," said José Saramago, as the House Museum recalled in a press release.
For the moment, registrations to attend the event remain open and you can participate as a reader or writer. To do this, you must send your name, surname, telephone number and email to the email address: [email protected].
The complete program can be found on the website of Writers of Lanzarote.
The event is organized by the Association of Writers of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, and the José Saramago House Museum. In addition, it has the collaboration of the José Saramago House Museum, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Tías City Council.
