The Juvenile Court number 1 of Las Palmas ordered this Wednesday the internment in the Juvenile Center of Valle Tabares (Tenerife) of the three alleged leaders of the riots that occurred on Monday and Tuesday in the La Santa shelter, as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of assault against the Civil Guard  and alternatively of active resistance, threats, damages and robbery with force. As for the other eight minors who were arrested, they returned to the La Santa shelter without charges.

For their part, the two adults who were also arrested were brought to justice this Thursday and have been released provisionally as alleged perpetrators of a crime of damages. These adults were former residents of the La Santa shelter and were also arrested for their alleged involvement in the events, as confirmed by the Civil Guard.

The first disturbances occurred on Monday afternoon-night when three of the minors caused a "mutiny" in the shelter. According to reports from the Benemérita, the young people caused several attempted fires, damage to furniture, and confronted the center's educators, whom they threatened to let them go free and give them money. In addition, they threw stones at the cars of the workers and against the agents of the Civil Guard and the Local Police who came to the shelter after being alerted by the educators.

After that, new disturbances occurred on Tuesday, forcing in this case the Civil Guard and the National Police to intervene. Faced with this, several of the minors ran away from the facilities, thus also skipping the state of alarm, although they were finally arrested, along with the two adults, and transferred to police facilities.
