The Investigating Court number 1 of Arrecife has agreed to the provisional release without bail of the detainee after causing damage with an ax in a restaurant in La Santa, who is charged with a crime of threats and another of damages. However, he must appear in court every fifteen days while the case is being investigated.

The events took place at around 03:00 on Monday in the Yemayá restaurant in the town and it was residents of La Santa who reduced and detained the man, a 31-year-old with numerous police records. "There was no more disaster because God did not want it," said a member of Emerlan after the events, who was one of the first people to intervene after the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands alerted the NGO to this altercation.

"The restaurant was totally destroyed," said Ginés Cedrés, who explained that, upon his arrival, the man was already on the ground with "four or five people reducing him" and had "several blows to the head." "He was bleeding from his face and from several places," he said.

Likewise, this member of Emerlan explained that, after the arrival of the Local Police and the Civil Guard, they had to spend "almost half an hour" to calm the man down, who was "upset." After that, he was transferred by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital for the different injuries he had, although on Monday morning he was already brought to justice. For his part, according to sources from the investigation, the detainee alleged that he had been attacked before this altercation began.
