S.B. has admitted that he sold 0.85 grams of cocaine and was carrying 2.63 grams more to distribute in Arrecife. The Prosecutor's Office and the defendant's defense have reached an agreement by which he has been sentenced to one year and six months in prison, which he will not serve as he has no prior criminal record.
The man, who was carrying drugs worth 131.59 euros, must also pay a fine of 100 euros for a crime against public health in the form of substances that cause serious damage to health. Failure to meet the financial penalty will be increased by 42 days of deprivation of liberty.
Thus, the First Section of the Provincial Court has informed the confessed perpetrator that within two years he cannot commit any crime because if he does, he will have to serve this sentence plus the one corresponding to that new sentence.
Likewise, the Public Prosecutor's Office has indicated that this is a case that dates back to February 2012, so the process has been delayed in time.
The Prosecutor's Office and the defense have agreed that S.B. will face the costs of the trial, as well as the confiscation of the drug.
