The entry of tourists in Lanzarote increased by 49% in 2021, with 1,188,783 visitors compared to 795,213 in 2020, according to statistics from the Data Center of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, after the end of the tourist stoppage caused in 2020 by the confinement and restrictions for international travel.

October was, with 215,646 people, the month in which the island received the most visits. The largest year-on-year variation occurred in June (+6591%), with the entry of 52,728 compared to 788 the previous year. This is a similar figure to that of February 2020, the month before the start of confinement, in which 215,054 tourists entered Lanzarote, which represented the best monthly figure of that year.

The year 2021 began with a timid recovery of tourism, since the first three months of the year brought negative figures compared to January, February and March of 2020, between 80 and 90% lower.
