Despite experiencing a clear improvement compared to last year, all maritime traffic indicators at the Port of Arrecife in the first seven months of the year are still below the figures reached in 2019, before the pandemic.

For example, this year just over a thousand ships have arrived in Arrecife so far this year, compared to the 1,632 that were recorded in the same period of 2019

The number of passengers registered, a total of 204,035 people between January and July 2022 in the port of Arrecife, including cruise passengers, was also much lower than the 394,000 passengers counted in the same period of 2019. With them, 31,000 vehicles arrived this year, compared to the more than 44,000 that were registered in 2019.

The arrival of goods, the only one that approaches the levels of 2019

The number of goods arriving at the port of Arrecife, on the other hand, is much closer to the levels reached in the pre-pandemic era. With a total of 956,135 tons between January and July of this year, it is very close to the nearly one million tons that arrived in Arrecife through its port in 2019.

Among them, there are some that show a clearly upward evolution, possibly due to the sharp increase in arrivals by air.

For example, more fuel has been transported so far this year, more than five thousand tons compared to the 4,700 that arrived in the same period of 2019. More than thirteen thousand tons of water have also been unloaded this year, while in the same period of 2019, ten thousand tons were not reached.
