The airlines Iberia Express and Air Europa will reinforce their connections with the Canary Islands during this Christmas season, increasing their seats by 18,560 new seats and 4,800, respectively, to cover the demand during these dates.
In this way, the low-cost subsidiary of the Spanish airline of the IAG group, Iberia Express, will operate 136 additional flights during this period, of which 102 will have the Canary Islands as their destination (51 outbound and 51 return), which represents 75% of the total reinforcement links operated by the airline on these dates and 18,560 extra seats over the usual places.
For its part, at Air Europa, the Christmas reinforcement of operations includes more than 4,800 extra seats between the peninsula and the Balearic and Canary Islands.
Specifically, it will operate between December 21 and January 4, 27 new flights between Madrid and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, and between Palma de Mallorca and Madrid, Bilbao and Granada.
Reservations for December and January, at "normal" levels
Sources from the Iberia Group have explained to Efe that reservations for Christmas and the first quarter of the year are, for now, at the "normal" levels that correspond to seasonality, with a "very robust" demand.
Likewise, they have added that the most requested destinations are the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, as well as large European capitals, such as Paris or Amsterdam.
