Lanzarote Airport registers more passengers than last year in a March without Easter

In all the Canary Islands airports, more than five million passengers have been exceeded, 2.2% more than last year

César Manrique Airport recorded a total of 799,333 passengers in March, 1% more than the same month last year, despite not including Easter as last year, according to data provided by Aena.

The group of airports in the Canary Islands registered a total of 5,062,844 passengers during the month of March, 2.2% more than the same month of 2024.

Of the total number of travelers registered, 5,032,742 correspond to passengers on commercial flights, of which 1,770,349 traveled on national flights, 0.5% more than in March last year, and 3,262,393 on international flights, exceeding the figure for the same month of 2024 by 3.2%.

In addition, 44,810 aircraft movements were managed, 5% more, and 2,765 tons of goods were transported, an increase of 2.6% compared to March last year.

The Airport of Gran Canaria registered the highest number of passengers with 1,489,837, which represents an increase of 0.7% compared to March 2024.

It is followed by the Airport of Tenerife South, with 1,378,759 passengers and an increase of 2.4%; Fuerteventura, with 642,037 (+7.2%); Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 579,507 (+3.3%); La Palma, with 140,285 (+1.1%); El Hierro, with 23,578 (-11.2%); and, La Gomera, with 9,508 passengers (-6.4%).

So far this year, the Canary Islands airports have registered 14,143,757 travelers, 3.6% more than in the same period of 2024.
