In 2024, a total of 344,246 Irish people landed in Lanzarote, which is 40.2% more than arrived ten years earlier, when they totaled 205,673 tourists.
To give an idea of the magnitude of the growth, it is enough to verify that in 2024 there were almost as many arrivals from Ireland as the sum of German (275,684) and Italian (75,407) tourists.
With just five million inhabitants, Ireland is the foreign country with the highest number of internet searches about the island and its national association of travel agencies always chooses Lanzarote as the ideal destination to spend a good vacation, but the numbers had never been so high.
It was in 2023 when the 300,000 Irish tourists in a year were exceeded for the first time. Specifically, there were 327,655 arrivals from airports in Ireland.
Something that had never happened before the pandemic. In 2019, 285,716 Irish people visited Lanzarote.
The Irish tourist market has a very regular behavior throughout the year and has a very similar level of arrivals every month around 30,000 people.
Last year, the month with the most arrivals from Ireland was July, when 31,662 tourists from airports in the Republic of Ireland were registered.
In contrast, December recorded the lowest number of arrivals from Ireland with a total of 26,449 people.
