The Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company Turismo de Islas Canarias, is present at the 15th edition of the Austrian Photo + Adventure fair in order to promote the archipelago as the ideal setting for photography and nature tourism.

This event, the most important photography fair in Austria and the second most important in the German-speaking market, is focused on photography and video reports made in nature, so the presence of the Canary Islands focuses on promoting the numerous spaces that the destination offers to visitors looking for places of special beauty.

“The importance of audiovisual content in the perception of a brand is increasing and the landscape richness of the archipelago is a powerful tool to differentiate our identity”, explains the managing director of Turismo de Islas Canarias, José Juan Lorenzo.

Turismo de Canarias is aimed at this fair both to lovers of active tourism and tourism in nature as well as to professionals and amateurs who are looking for scenarios for their reports. The Canary Islands is present with its own stand, co-financed by 85% by Feder funds, and accompanied by Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Gomera

Parallel to the exhibitors area, about 200 events and activities are held, including the multimedia projection of adventures, presentations of trips by tour operators, seminars, workshops, forums and talks by specialists, as well as courses and training classes organized by the Vienna School of Photography and Canon Austria.

The fair revolves around photography and image, so for the Islas Canarias brand it is an excellent platform to promote itself as a destination rich in natural landscapes and reach an audience that seeks in the archipelago a personalized offer, with activities and experiences beyond sun and beach, as they are visitors who understand their trips as the discovery of the destination, regardless of conventional tourism.

In addition, nature photographers are great ambassadors of natural spaces, since with their work they play an important role in the policies of dissemination, awareness and conservation of heritage. This activity usually attracts, in addition, a tourism that is normally very respectful of its environment, which seeks well-preserved and uncrowded spaces, which also contributes to economic development in rural areas.
