In the first six months of the year, a total of 257,034 cruise passengers have arrived at the Port of Arrecife, according to the Lanzarote Data Center.
The figure is almost double the number who arrived last year, which is not surprising given that in the first months of 2022 there were still mobility restrictions derived from the health crisis of covid 19.
More significant is the data resulting from comparing the figures with the arrivals in the same period of 2019, when a total of 217,771 cruise passengers arrived at the port of the capital. The growth is 15.3%.
According to data from the Arrecife city council, cruise passengers contribute to the local commerce of the capital and usually come from the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy.
As for the total traffic of the port during the first semester of this year, Arrecife has received 851 ships, 686 merchant ships and 165 fishing boats.
Consequently, the total traffic of the port has increased compared to the first six months of last year by 4.61% and has moved 853,723 tons of goods.
