The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium intervened this Wednesday, March 9, in an incident that occurred at La Plaza Shopping Center, in Costa Teguise, where six people —four adults and two children— were trapped inside an elevator.
According to the Consortium, the alert was received through the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes). Immediately, a unit moved to the Avenida de Las Palmeras, place of the event.
Upon their arrival, the personnel proceeded to disconnect the elevator's power and carried out the necessary maneuvers to free the trapped people, who were in good condition. Once out of the elevator and in a safe place, Cecoes was informed of the outcome of the intervention.
Finally, the elevator was sealed until the arrival of the company in charge of its maintenance and repair.
