Binter and Air China have formalized an SPA (Special Prorate Agreement) agreement that will significantly improve the connectivity between the Canary Islands and some of the main international destinations operated by the oriental airline. The agreement, closed at the end of 2025, opens new travel possibilities for passengers flying to and from the archipelago and strengthens tourist and economic development, facilitating the arrival of international tourists.

Both airlines will connect Air China's routes between Beijing, Sao Paulo or Havana and Madrid with those of Binter between the Spanish capital and the airports of Gran Canaria and Tenerife North.

In this first phase, it will be Air China who markets the connections, integrating into its global network and allowing the issuance in a single reservation for combined journeys. In this way, passengers will benefit from a single check-in process until the final destination, without needing to collect their luggage in Madrid, and being able to make the connection between terminals T1 and T2 of Barajas with the boarding pass of the airline operating the subsequent journey.

Flights with Beijing every day

This alliance will facilitate connections between the Canary Islands and Beijing every day with departures from the Canary Islands at 7:00 AM to arrive in Madrid at 10:45 AM, from where it will take off at 12:55 PM, landing in the Chinese capital at 05:55 AM the next day.

In the opposite direction, the departure from Beijing will be at 02:00 hours to land in Madrid at 08:00 hours. From the capital of Spain the flight will take off at 11:45 hours, arriving in the Canary Islands at 13:50 hours.

These connections also benefit from the visa exemption that allows Spanish citizens to enter mainland China without this document until December 2026 for tourism stays of up to 30 days.

In the case of Havana, the agreement allows two weekly connections, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with departure from the Canary Islands at 07:00 hours and from Madrid at 14:45 hours to land in the Cuban capital at 18:50 hours. From Air China they report that, due to fuel scarcity in Cuba, a technical stop is being made to refuel in the Bahamas which could alter the schedules on the route to Madrid, but which does not affect the outbound journey to Havana.

Departing from Cuba, the flight will take off at 23:55 hours to land in Madrid at 15:20 hours the following day. The flight to the Canary Islands will depart at 20:15 hours to arrive in the Canary Islands at 22:20 hours.

Another of the destinations that will improve its connection is Sao Paulo, with three possible weekly connections, Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays from Canarias and Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from Brazil.

Departure from the Canary Islands will be at 15:45 hours and at 23:15 hours from Madrid to arrive at the Brazilian financial capital at 05:00 hours the next day. From there, flights will depart at 09:25 hours to land in Madrid at 00:45 hours the next day. From there, the 07:00 hours flight will be taken to arrive at the archipelago at 09:05 hours.

Comfort on all journeys

On routes operated by Binter, passengers will enjoy the differential advantages offered by the Canarian airline: the comfort of its Embraer E195-E2 aircraft -the quietest, cleanest, and most efficient single-aisle jet in its class, with a configuration that allows more space between rows and the comfort of not having a middle seat-, to which is added a high-end onboard service, with extensive features for all passengers such as a complimentary gourmet snack, and hand luggage always on board, among others.

Air China operates its routes with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with three cabin configurations designed for maximum comfort: Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy.
