What is the cheapest municipality in the Canary Islands to rent an apartment?

In the Canary Islands, the cheapest municipality to rent a home is Santa Lucía de Tirajana, where the meter square is at 9.3 euros. Not too far from the 11 euros that it costs on average in Arrecife, according to data from the real estate portal idealista.com based on its price report for the month of July 2024.

For the realization of this study, Idealista has only analyzed the municipalities in which there was a sufficient supply of properties to be statistically reliable, so that small municipalities such as Haría are not reflected.

Úbeda, in the province of Jaén, is the cheapest municipality to rent a home in Spain, with 5 euros per month for each square meter on average.

Next is Puertollano, in Ciudad Real, which occupies the second position with 5.4 euros, followed by Ontinyent, in Valencia, which is located at 5.5 euros. Don Benito, in Badajoz, averages 5.6 euros, while Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real) and Linares (Jaén) share an average price (5.8 euros). Lucena (Córdoba) closes the list below 6 euros with rents at 5.9 euros per square meter.

With prices starting at 6 euros are Almansa (Albacete) which registers 6 euros per square meter, Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real) with 6.1 euros, Ponferrada (León) with 6.3 euros, Mérida (Badajoz) Onda (Castellón) and Elda (Alicante) with 6.4 euros in all three cases.

Also in Alicante is Alcoy, which shares a price with the city of Zamora with 6.5 euros. With 6.6 euros per month are the towns of Molina de Segura (Murcia) and Villarreal (Castellón), while in Ciudad Real capital, Burriana (Castellón) and Ronda (Málaga) the price is at 6.7 euros.

The last municipality below 7 euros is Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), where rents are at 6.8 euros on average per square meter.
