The price of used housing in Canary Islands increased by 2% during the month of February to 2,922 euros per square meter, according to data released by idealista.com.
At the national level, prices experienced a growth of 1.5% to 2,271 euros, the highest price of used housing in Spain since the real estate portal has records.
By regions, only the Community of Madrid (2.5%) and Andalusia (2.3%) show higher increases than the Canary Islands.
Below the Canary Islands are all the others: Asturias (1.4%), Balearic Islands (1.3%), Cantabria (1.2%), Region of Murcia (1.2%), Aragon (1.1%) and Comunitat Valenciana (1.1%).
Increases of 1% or less are found in Castilla-La Mancha (1%), Euskadi (1%), Catalonia (0.9%), Castilla y León (0.7%), Galicia (0.7%) and La Rioja (0.4%). Navarra (-0.6%) and Extremadura (-0.1%) are the only regions where the price fell compared to January.
The Balearic Islands, with 4,789 euros per square meter, is the most expensive autonomous community, followed by the Community of Madrid (3,949 euros). They are followed by Euskadi (3,092), Canary Islands (2,922) and Catalonia (2,451). On the opposite side of the table we find Castilla-La Mancha (943
euro), Extremadura (960 euros) and Castilla y León (1,195 euros), which are the most economical communities.
42 provinces have prices higher than those recorded a month ago. The largest increase, after Madrid, occurred in the provinces of Ávila (2.4%), Seville (2.4%) and Huesca (2.4%), followed by Santa Cruz de Tenerife (2.3%).
On the contrary, six provinces have experienced decreases in the price of used housing during the last month. These include Navarra (-0.6%), Zamora (-0.5%), Badajoz (-0.4%) and Jaén (-0.3%).
