Rental prices fell in the Canary Islands during the summer

The cost of renting a home fell across the country with the exception of La Rioja, Navarra and Castilla-La Mancha

The Canary Islands has experienced positive and negative variations in the price of rental housing, and specifically, closes the third quarter of 2024 with a decrease of -1.5%, although the price is 5.2% higher than twelve months ago, according to data from the Real Estate Index Fotocasa

Particularly interesting is the data from the province of Las Palmas, where rents fell by 5.1% during the summer in contrast to prices in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where they rose by 3% in the same period. 

Thus, the average price per square meter for rent in the archipelago remained at 13.66 euros in September. The price fell in almost all the autonomous communities during the third quarter except for La Rioja (3.5%), Navarra (2.6%) and Castilla-La Mancha (1.0%).

The largest price drops were recorded in Cantabria (-15.7%), Catalonia (-8.7%), the Region of Murcia (-8.2%), the Balearic Islands (-7.1%), Andalusia (-4.9%), Galicia (-4.9%), Extremadura (-3.6%), the Valencian Community (-2.7%), the Basque Country (-2.5%), Castilla y León (-2.0%), Aragon (-1.8%), the Canary Islands (-1.5%), Asturias (-0.8%) and Madrid (-0.5%). 

Regarding the classification of prices by communities, Madrid occupies the first place, specifically Madrid is paid 19.61 euros per square meter per month. They are followed by the communities of the Balearic Islands with 16.81 euros, Catalonia with 15.75 euros, the Basque Country with 15.70 euros, and the Canary Islands with 13.66.

Next, the Valencian Community with 12.09 euros, Cantabria (11.58), Navarra (11.50), Asturias (10.27), Andalusia (10.04), Aragon (9.61), Galicia (9.14), La Rioja (8.87), Castilla y León (8.87), the Region of Murcia (8.75), Castilla-La Mancha (7.14) and Extremadura (6.67).
