The Lanzarote Business Confederation (CEL) held a meeting this Monday, November 11, with the Lanzarote College of Architects, with the aim of promoting a series of actions that result in streamlining the bureaucratic procedures that hinder the creation of new housing and businesses on the island, reducing the quality of life of its residents.
The president of the CEL, Beatriz Salazar, together with the rest of the board of directors, met with the dean of the College of Architects, Alberto Lasso, and the secretary, Esteban Gil, in a meeting that laid the foundations for working together in the search and implementation of solutions that simplify administrative procedures when obtaining the appropriate licenses, both for the construction of new housing and for opening a business. The urban planning lawyer and technical advisor to the CEL, Jesús Villodre, was also present.
Beatriz Salazar emphasized this need, “which continues to be one of the greatest demands of the island's residents, since this administrative blockage reduces the growth and development opportunities of the residents.”
She recalled that “the lack of housing is one of the factors that negatively affects the creation of companies on the islands, weakening our economic and business fabric”. For this reason, she stressed the importance of collaborating with institutions and the private sector, involving all socio-economic actors to row in the same direction and “solve this problem that seems to be entrenched”.
Finally, Salazar expressed her commitment and willingness to work hand in hand with the Lanzarote College of Architects for the implementation of real and effective proposals that strengthen the island's productive fabric and guarantee the improvement of the quality of life of all its residents.
