El Islote de Fermina has been the setting chosen for the presentation of the 2nd edition of the Lanzarote Miniature Pintxos Congress 2023 festival, a gastronomic event that will be held between April 22 and 24 at the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
The CEO of the Entity, Benjamín Perdomo, highlighted an initiative that "unites a city and an island that are committed to their excellent local products". "We are in luck," he said, "to host a Festival that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experiences around gastronomy to help destinations grow." This second edition," he said, "will allow us to continue strengthening our tourist proposal linked to the culture created in the kitchens".
In the same vein, the CEO of the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society, Héctor Fernández, has valued it as "an event that aligns perfectly with the destination's strategy".
"It unites a city and an island that are committed to their excellent local products"
"With a bidirectional nature, it is an ally of incalculable value that helps us accelerate the pace in our positioning strategy." All this, "through the qualification of its gastronomic offer in a market, such as the Basque Country, with a very high purchasing power."
The chef Rubén González, organizer and promoter of the Festival, has thanked "the involvement and availability" of the heads of the two tourist entities that have made it possible to launch the second edition, since "last year it was magnificently received."
González has "invited the island's population to participate in the festival that shows that Lanzarote's gastronomic offer is at a very high level", and that, "as a great novelty, will host the celebration of Miniature Kids, an event of the program designed exclusively for the little ones."
The local chef Yeray Gil, finally, champion in the first edition of Lanzarote and winner of the Bronze Pintxo in the last edition of the Festival in Vitoria with his proposal 'Volcanic Jameo', has stressed that the recognition "allowed us to take a leap and grow personally and professionally".
Lanzarote will host a "unique way to get to know miniature cuisine and highlight the particularities of local gastronomy through kilometer 0 products."
