The Canarian Employment Service (SCE) will announce subsidies valued at 12 million euros for the hiring of long-term unemployed people, together with municipal corporations, through the development of projects with training plans and professional practice throughout 2022.
Signed by Councilor Elena Máñez, as president of the SCE, the resolution published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) contemplates the granting of aid under a competitive competition regime to local corporations or entities dependent on island municipalities with more than 900 unemployed people for the hiring of long-term unemployed people for a maximum period of nine months for the performance of works or provision of services classified as being of general and social interest.
During the employment-generating projects, mandatory training in key skills will be given during 40% of the day and professional experience with economic remuneration will be provided during the remaining 60%, through the execution of works and services of municipal competence in personalized management of a daily nature, areas of collective utility, leisure, culture and tourism, promotion of the environment, recovery of historical heritage and, in general, actions derived from the dependency law.
The subsidized actions mainly benefit unemployed people with deficient training, without a Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) or a professional certificate, since the acquisition of basic or key skills for access to obtaining the corresponding accreditations will be facilitated.
From May 23, municipal entities will have a period of 15 days to submit the appropriate applications through the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands.
