The Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE) will announce subsidies for non-employment internship programs in companies during 2022 in the archipelago to compensate for the cost of scholarships paid to young unemployed people with the aim of improving their employability.

Published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), the resolution signed by Councilor Elena Máñez, as president of the SCE, contemplates aid for the financing of the Practícate program under a competitive regime through a simplified procedure with an initial budget of 100,000 euros, which may be increased according to the applications.

Aimed at the unemployed population aged 18 to 29 with educational or professional qualifications, but professional experience of less than three months, Practícate subsidizes collaborating companies for between a quarter and a half year, after signing an agreement with the SCE, the payment of 80% of the current monthly Public Indicator of Income for Multiple Effects (IPREM) (579.02 euros in 2022), although the scholarship cannot be less than 120% of the same state reference, so the two amounts are 463.22 and 694.82 euros per month, respectively.

Through two procedures with separate deadlines (July 9 to August 31 and September 1 to November 30, 2022), the submission of applications is processed electronically through the electronic headquarters of the autonomous administration.
