The Therapeutic Educational Center of Lanzarote, Cetel, has launched the "mim@dos" nursery in Playa Honda, as well as a summer school. "The acceptance and reception of the nursery users has been very good. We are satisfied with the results obtained," said the director of Cetel, Yéssica Vizcaíno.

Thus, once the summer school ends on August 31, the new school year of early childhood education will begin in September. According to its organizers, this children's space is committed to "an education whose main objective is to contribute to the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of children, advocating for stimulating all their abilities from their childhood."

For this, globalized activities will be developed that are of interest and significance to the children themselves. The daily activities of the nursery are accompanied by a structured daily rhythm with different tasks, meal times and rest times.

Throughout the day, activities will be carried out in small groups of similar ages to awaken and encourage all the senses of the children. These include games where they feel, jump, sing or paint. "In this way, the perceptions of the senses, fine and gross motor skills, manual skills and creativity are enhanced, corresponding to the aptitudes and interests of each of them," explain its promoters.

In the "Mim@dos" nursery, there is also a commitment to enhancing different intelligences, focusing on the perspective of "multiple intelligences." The main activities that will be developed will be sensory, psychomotor, language and communication stimulation, intellectual abilities, as well as the acquisition of habits and autonomy, social and relationship skills, plastic expression, artistic expression, free play and English, among many others.

In the "Mim@dos" nursery, other "novel" services are also offered, such as care for children with special educational needs, assessments and therapeutic support for children with difficulties or delays in their development, reviews by health professionals and care for families, with the realization of workshops and conferences.

Toy library

In addition, there will be other services such as the children's toy library, birthday celebrations and a dining service, where "the menus will guarantee the appropriate caloric and dietary intake, prepared and supervised by qualified personnel." "They will be varied, taking care of their presentation so that they are attractive and appetizing for children. Along with the ordinary menu, another diet or special menu can be prepared for users who need it. Families will be informed of the menus with the delivery of the printed board, which will also include certain recommendations for dinner and advice on good eating habits," says Yéssica Vizcaíno through this statement.

In addition, the babysitting service will be launched, which is already of interest to both families and tourist complexes. "Some of the businessmen in the tourism sector who have already been interested in the babysitting service have positively valued this initiative, as a way to improve the quality of their services for family tourism," said the director of the center.

Surveillance systems

This center has a video surveillance system in its facilities so that families can observe the daily life of their child in the nursery through the website. "The human team is made up of different professionals specialized in education and with extensive experience in the care and intervention with children, since they have been working in the educational sector on the island for years," said Vizcaíno.

Among this team are educators, higher technicians in early childhood education, teachers, pedagogues, speech therapists, psychologists, psychomotor therapists, educational assistants, nurses, and professionals from other disciplines. In addition, Cetel collaborates with different training centers on the island, as well as others of great relevance in the Canary Islands such as the ICSE center.

The nursery has "spacious, modern and unbeatable facilities with the hygienic-sanitary and safety conditions suitable to offer a quality educational care service to children." In addition, it is authorized and approved by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands. From the nursery, visits to the facilities are being organized in view of the beginning of the next school year.
