The Binter Canarias strike committee and representatives of the airline meet this Tuesday to find a way out of the strike that part of the staff has been maintaining for the last two weeks, according to a statement from the Federation of Communication and Transport of the Canary Islands Workers' Commissions (CC OO).
The meeting will be held from 1:30 p.m. at the headquarters of the Canary Islands Labor Court of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
CC OO makes public the "desire of both parties to reach an agreement" that puts an end to a strike that - in their opinion - has caused significant delays in the flights of the company Binter, which during the past weekend had an average delay of 45 minutes, an extreme that the company has promptly denied in all days of strike.
The impact of the strike has been described as a success by Comisiones Obreras because "it is causing a drop in the number of travelers of the company, who since the mobilizations began have chosen to make their trips in the other airline or through maritime transport". The union estimates that the decrease in the number of travelers is around 50%.
The strike, which is experiencing its sixth day this Monday, will continue on November 25, 27 and 28 and December 2, 4 and 5, if no agreement is reached in the meeting scheduled for tomorrow, the same sources say.
