The unions calling the Swissport workers' strike, UGT, CCOO and USO have positively assessed the first days of mobilizations on February 27, 28 and March 2, despite the "excessive resolution of minimum services, which cut off the workers' capacity to show their rejection of their" labor situation.

The strike committee has announced that they will take legal action "to ensure that this company does not continue with the level of harassment and persecution of workers."

For the moment, Swissport has not responded to La Voz's questions about delays and cancellations at Lanzarote airport, where almost half of the handling staff belongs to the Swiss company.

The strike continues this Monday and will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until April 13. For the days of March and April, flights to the peninsula will be 86% protected, while flights to foreign countries have 57% protection in March and 55% in April.

Specifically, the unions denounce "threats to workers, with sanctions and even the possibility of cutting off their working conditions, mandatory performance of peremptory hours, by workers with part-time contracts and that workers are performing tasks that do not correspond to their professional group."

The strike committee has announced that they will "intensify the measures with concentrations and demonstrations" in all workplaces, during the next week, so that "this company ceases its disloyal attitude."
