69% of Lanzarote residents rate their household's economic situation as good, according to the latest Island Issues Survey by the Cabildo.
The percentage contrasts with that of last year, when it was only 53% and even more so with the data recently provided by the ISTAC, which reflected that 63.4% of the resident population in Lanzarote has problems with making ends meet.
This year's data includes 7% of respondents who consider their household's economic situation to be very good (the same percentage as last year) and 62% who consider it good, (16 percentage points more than last year).
In contrast, the latest Survey of Island Issues indicates that 9% of citizens consider their economic situation to be bad and 2% report experiencing a very bad situation, both percentages being very similar to last year's.
Instead, those who consider their economy to be fair are 19% in the latest survey, far fewer than in 2024 when they rose to 35%.
