63.4% of Lanzarote residents have difficulty making ends meet, according to the latest consumer confidence survey by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

The figure refers to the third quarter of the year and is practically the same percentage as the second quarter (63.5%).

However, those arriving with great difficulty decreased from 25.4% between April and June to 20.3% between July and September, while those arriving with some difficulty increased from 38.1% to 43.1%.

In contrast, the Lanzaroteños who declare they reach the end of the month with ease are 32.8%, two points less than those who managed it in the previous quarter when they reached 34.9%.

Breaking down these percentages, it is observed that those who arrive with some ease have fallen from 27.1% in the second quarter to 20.5% in the last, while those who arrive with great ease have increased from 7.8% to 12.3%.

The majority of Lanzarote residents think that the current situation of their home is the same as before (59.8%), while one in three think it is worse (33%) and only 7.2% believe it is better.

In the previous quarter, these percentages were 56.9% for those who think it's the same, 32.8% who believe it's worse, and 10.3% who consider it better.
