Ryanair airline has reported that it may fine each passenger 100 euros who arrives at the boarding gate more than 40 minutes before the departure time.

The airline insists that the measure has to do with punctuality, arguing that last-minute stragglers have been delaying flights and disrupting schedules.

However, many users understand that this is "another fundraising measure" by the company, "one more abusive practice."

This new measure is in addition to the 55 euro surcharge that the airline applies to passengers who have not checked in online through the Ryanair app or website before the deadline of two hours before departure.

The airline was recently sanctioned with a fine of 107 million euros for "abusive practices" in Spain.

Among other infractions, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs pointed out the charging of hand luggage, that of "adjacent seats to accompany dependent persons" and the "disproportionate" cost of printing the ticket at the terminal if it is not available.
