"No more houses without people or people without houses", "There is no right to be homeless" and "Don't expect me to be quiet if they throw us out on the street" are some of the slogans that could be read on the banners carried in the concentration held this morning in the Calle Real de Arrecife, some of those affected by the shortage of long-stay rental housing in Lanzarote as a result of the rise in holiday rentals, a situation that has led to an exorbitant increase in rents and the risk that many families will be left on the street as they cannot afford the high prices of rentals, due to their precarious employment situation, and will be evicted from the properties in which they reside.

More than a hundred people, including those affected and citizens who wanted to show solidarity with them, came to this protest next to the Casa Amarilla today.
