The traditional Milan trams are displaying images of Lanzarote these days, as a result of a promotional campaign co-financed by Turismo Lanzarote and the Spanish Tourism Office of the Lombard capital. Thus, from this Tuesday and until May 22, the carriages of the trams on lines 2 (Lunigiana-Negrelli) and 16 (San Siro-Monte Velino) of the fashion capital are screen-printed with beautiful and striking images of the island.
Under the slogan 'Lanzarote, the different island', the Milanese will be able to see the beaches of Papagayo and Famara or El Charco de los Clicos on their trams, some of the corners that overlook a city that, in addition, this week, will receive more than 300,000 visitors on the occasion of the celebration of the Salone del Mobile.
Those responsible for Turismo Lanzarote have thanked the OET of Milan for their collaboration in the implementation of this action, which "seeks to improve the positioning of the destination in a city that is, together with Turin, the main financial engine of Italy", they point out. It is, precisely, the dynamism and strength of its economy that make Milan a strategic objective of the main tourist destinations. "For the Lanzarote destination, therefore, the campaign fulfills the objective of improving our positioning in a city that will experience a notable increase in connectivity in the coming months, especially as a result of the launch of the Lanzarote-Milan Malpensa route by Easyjet in May, and the increase in the frequencies of the connection that Ryanair maintains from the island to the Bergamo airport", they point out.
A market in which Lanzarote has "enormous growth possibilities"
The Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Echedey Eugenio, and the CEO of SPEL, Héctor Fernández, highlight "the success" of a promotional action that they consider "extremely interesting, in a market in which Lanzarote still has enormous growth possibilities".
Turismo Lanzarote points out that it is working to execute a similar action in Rome, in this case, with the collaboration of the OET of the Italian capital. They indicate in this sense that air connectivity with the island has also been significantly improved with this city.
The tram is one of the most popular transport services in Milan and one of the favorites for tourists, due to its old and characteristic cars. With 160 kilometers long, its network is the second largest in Italy, after Turin.
