At the close of 2022, a total of 137,528 vehicles were recorded in Lanzarote, representing a growth of 3.9% compared to the previous year, according to figures published by the Lanzarote Data Center.
The increase is significant, given that in 2020 the fleet decreased by more than a thousand vehicles and in 2021 it only experienced an increase of 1.5%.
Of the total number of vehicles on the island, the majority, 93,123, are passenger cars. The second place is occupied by vans and trucks, which together total 30,997.
In Lanzarote there are also 9,205 motorcycles, 996 trailers, 463 buses and 273 tractors.
San Bartolomé and Tías account for a third of all vehicles
Just over a third of the total number of vehicles on the island are in Arrecife, where a total of 48,386 were recorded.
San Bartolomé and Tías, with 23,006 and 22,310 vehicles respectively, account for another third of the total on the island.
Next are Teguise, with 20,187 vehicles, Yaiza, with 12,669, Tinajo, with 6,071, and Haría with 4,899.
