The Official College of Economists of Las Palmas celebrated Economist Day in Lanzarote with an informative conference on economics last November 4 at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife.
From the Chamber they value "positively the realization of this type of events", with which the Chamber usually collaborates. "Our collaboration with the College of Economists is very close, since they are an essential part for the operation of companies and are therefore our allies with whom we collaborate continuously" explained to La Voz, the vice president of the Chamber, Carmen Martinón.
During the event, a distinction was given to the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, which was collected by its vice president. "We appreciate the delivery of the distinction for the management of COVID aid to companies. A management in which we especially count on the collaboration of the College of Economists and without whose help we could not have had the success achieved," said Martinón. A total of 1.144 million euros in aid were managed among the four Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands.
The event was presided over by the dean of the College of Economists of Las Palmas, Alcibiades Trancho Lemes, and the vice-dean in Lanzarote of the College, Sergio Plata Romero. It was attended by the Minister of Finance and Contracting of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Rosa Mary Callero Cañada and the CEO of the Society for Foreign Promotion of Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández Machado. The conference was moderated by Jonathan Márquez Lasso, president of the Training Commission of the College of Economists of Las Palmas.
During the conference, Manuel J. Viera Ramírez, former vice-dean for Lanzarote of the College, was named Honorary Economist, and a special distinction was given to the economist and businessman Agustín Márquez Fernández.
Throughout the day, there was a presentation by the president of the Registry of Tax Advisor Economists of the General Council of Economists (REAF), Agustín Fernández Pérez, on Small capsules of tax news.
There was also a round table, in which Trancho Lemes participated; Martinón Ramírez; Fernández Machado; together with Mariano Sanginés López, director of the Las Palmas office of Renta4; and Nayra Valls Cabrera, financial director of the Cabrera Medina Group, who spoke about the Current situation of the economy in Lanzarote.
