Five hundred bottles of dry Malvasia and another five hundred of La Grieta 2010 red wine will soon depart for "one of the most demanding markets in the world", the Japanese market, according to the Lanzarote Regulatory Council.
Last November, Ricardo Socas and Sabina Leeuwenburg, owners of the winery located in Punta Mujeres and attached to the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin "Vinos de Lanzarote", received a visit from the representative of an important importing company of Spanish wines in Japan, who had received good references of the wines produced by La Grieta at its delegation in Barcelona.
After sending some samples to the headquarters of the company in Japan for tasting, the green light was given to proceed with the shipment of these 1,000 bottles, which will be distributed in restaurants, hotels and bars in the capital, Tokyo, as well as in the Kansai region, which includes the cities of Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe, among others.
