Nearly 200,000 tons of gasoline were unloaded at the port of Arrecife last year, 42% more than the amount that arrived in 2021, when mobility limitations derived from the covid 19 pandemic were still very restrictive.

However, the amount of this fuel unloaded in 2022 is also 14% higher than that unloaded in 2019, when just over 170,000 tons were recorded, according to figures from the Port Authority provided by the Lanzarote Data Center.

Also new is the growth in the unloading of biofuels, whose production is developed through the chemical or physical treatment of organic waste or plants. In 2022, more than 5,000 tons arrived, which represents a growth of 44.6% compared to 2021. The arrival of biofuels is also much higher than that recorded in 2019, when only 2,000 tons were recorded.

The amount of fuel unloaded in 2022 amounted to almost 148,000 tons, 20.3% higher than that arrived in 2021, but 11% lower than that recorded in 2019.

With regard to diesel, the port of Arrecife received more than 65,000 tons last year, a figure very similar to that of the previous year when it was just over 63,000. In 2019 it was 67,000.

The total of energy products unloaded in the Port of Arrecife last year amounted to 428,042 tons, 28.3% more than in 2021, but also 2.6% higher than the records of 2019.
