The Armas Trasmediterránea Group will concentrate its cargo and passenger operations between the Peninsula and the Canary Islands in the port of Cádiz from April 19, and will leave the port of Huelva, where it has been operating since 2011, the shipping company reported this Monday.
As indicated in a statement, this decision responds to the improvement plan that the company is implementing to increase the level of service to its customers.
In this way, it adapts its offer to the real requirements of passenger demand and cargo on the lines in which it operates, improving its competitiveness in the market and saving time."
The new line from Cádiz will now connect with three ships ('Ciudad de Valencia', 'Volcán de Tinamar' and 'Villa de Tazacorte'), the south of the Peninsula with the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Palma.
The Armas Transmediterránea Group has been operating in the port of Huelva since 2011, the year in which the first regular passenger line between the Andalusian capital and the Canary Islands was launched via the 'Volcán del Teide' ferry.
