The airlines Binter and Air Europa have signed a code-sharing agreement that will allow them to offer their customers a better price offer on connections with the Iberian Peninsula, in addition to better care and service. The agreement includes the inter-island routes and the international connection with Dakar of the Canarian airline.
According to Binter, "the biggest beneficiaries of this rapprochement between both companies will be the residents of non-capital islands, such as La Palma, El Hierro or La Gomera, as it will allow an improvement in connections and prices in their trips to the Peninsula".
At the same time, the position of the Canary Archipelago as a stopover on international flights will be reinforced, since Binter's current flight will have a connection with Air Europa's flights to Madrid, being able to offer passengers of the Canarian airline in this African destination a greater number of connections, not only with the Peninsula, but also with Air Europa's flight network to other international airports.
Tickets with code shared between Binter and Air Europa have begun to be sold this week, through the different sales channels of both airlines.
Air Europa is the airline of the Globalia group, the first Spanish tourist conglomerate. It has a modern fleet of 44 aircraft and a wide network of destinations in Spain, Europe, America and the Caribbean. It has been distinguished by the German environmental NGO Atmosfair as the most efficient company in the world in short and medium distance flights.
For its part, BinterCanarias offers air connections with all the airports of the seven Canary Islands, with an average of 130 inter-island flights per day. In addition, since 2005 it has been operating international routes, so that it currently offers flights to nine foreign airports, 7 in West Africa –Marrakech, Casablanca, Agadir, El Aaiún, Dakar, Banjul and Praia- and two in Portugal –Lisbon and Madeira-.
