The airline Air Europa has suffered a cyberattack that has exposed the bank details of its customers, who have been asked to cancel their cards.

The information has been confirmed by the company to El Periódico de Catalunya, from the Prensa Ibérica group, after several users have published what happened on social networks. Specifically, the stolen data was the number of several cards, their expiration dates and the CVV.

"Our systems team confirmed the existence of a cybersecurity problem that would have affected the payment environment with which purchases are managed through the web. This fraudulent alteration of the flow in the payment process would have allowed the extraction of data from credit cards. There is no evidence that the leak has ended up being used to commit any fraud," airline sources report.

The company of the Hidalgo family assures that the "detection and rapid intervention" of its team for the application of the protocol established by the airline has allowed to block the security breach and prevent the leakage of new data.

However, it recommends its customers to contact their bank to cancel the credit card they have used for payments with their company.
