The price of second-hand vehicles in the Canary Islands has increased by 5.25% in November compared to last year, according to the National Association of Vehicle Dealers (Ancove).

However, while in the province of Las Palmas prices have risen by 7.14%, to an average of 12,228 euros, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife they have only risen by 0.96%, to 10,670 euros. The difference amounts to 1,558 euros.

The average increase in the Canary Islands is two points higher than the national average of 3.2%, although it is far from the sharp year-on-year increase recorded, for example, in Navarra, of 11.5%, as detailed by Ancove in a statement.

In the archipelago, 7,823 used vehicles were sold during the month of November at an average price of 11,596 euros, although the increase has been more acute in the province of Las Palmas than in that of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

As for cars over 8 years old, the average price was 8,016 in the archipelago, 1.4% more in annual terms and, on this occasion, well below the national average, which was an increase of 4.5%, to an average of 9,667 euros.

The sale of used vehicles over 8 years old accounts for 58% of the total second-hand market in the Canary Islands, Ancove highlighted.
