Business opportunities in the audiovisual sector of Lanzarote

The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa will hold the conference "Business opportunities in the audiovisual sector of Lanzarote", a meeting designed to analyze the impact and opportunities offered by the audiovisual industry on the island. The event will take place on Thursday, February 20 at 9:30 a.m. at the Chamber's facilities.

A growing sector

This initiative, framed within the Digital Coworking project, seeks to make a radiography of the audiovisual sector in Lanzarote and how the local business community can benefit from the growing arrival of audiovisual productions to the island. Companies from sectors such as transportation, clothing, catering, makeup and hairdressing, among others, have the opportunity to integrate into the value chain of the industry.

The program of the day will include a presentation by Jaime Romero, CEO of Macaronesia Films, a production company specialized in shooting management and advice on tax incentives for audiovisual productions in the Canary Islands.

During the event, two dialogue tables will also be held. The first will bring together representatives of the industry and the tourism sector such as Esther García, head of marketing and promotion at Lanzarote Film Commission, Ismael Curbelo, director of the Lanzarote Film Festival, Laura Cedrés, production director of Tenique Cultural (Lanzarote Film Festival), Zac David, manager of the Lanzarote service production company Little Island Production and Gonzalo Bethencourt, director of Buenavista Country Suites. This debate will address issues such as the impact of the audiovisual industry on the local economy, the role of film festivals in the projection of Lanzarote as an audiovisual destination and the challenges of the sector on the island.

The second dialogue table will focus on the role of entities in the audiovisual sector and will feature the participation of Sabita Jagtani, senior technician of the ZEC, Pilar Moreno, director of Investing in the Canary Islands in PROEXCA, Genoveva Ayala, manager of the Audiovisual Cluster of the Canary Islands and Pedro Carballido, technician of the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development - Canary Island Film.
