Rancho Texas attended the Puerto del Carmen parade with Eco-Lola and her plastic fishermen, an explosion of joy, creativity and sustainable approach.
For the coating of Eco-Lola and her guide Jameito, Rancho Texas has used 6,500 plastic bottles consumed by visitors to the theme park. The rest of the materials used are also recycled.
The animation surrounding Eco-Lola includes the lighting and sound equipment of Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park.
Carnival Allegory: Eco-Lola and the plastic fishermen
From distant seas they came.
Mutated beings sailing the waters in their bio-plastic ship. Fishing and collecting the waste that humans, with their selfishness and idiocy, abandoned in the seas of that small blue planet.
With their good work and their long poles they were collecting the abandoned plastic and transforming it into their Eco-Lola ship, into a consciousness of respect and love for the environment, transforming the ecosystems deteriorated by frenetic human activity.
On their long journey they were contacting the species of the different ecosystems and, arriving in the Canary waters, they connect with "Jameito", a clean being who lives in the volcanic tubes of the island of Lanzarote, an example of adaptation and bio-diversity. Although he is blind, he guides them to connect with the human population.
The women and men who found them underwent a profound transformation.
Becoming aware of respect for the environment and all its creatures.
