Canaries and Telefónica reinforce the monitoring of the plan to improve telecommunications

The president of Canarias, Fernando Clavijo, and the president of Telefónica España, Borja Ochoa, have held in Madrid a new follow-up meeting of the project aimed at reinforcing the resilience of the archipelago's telecommunications infrastructuresThe meeting is part of the coordination process established between both parties to supervise the evolution of the agreed-upon measures and guarantee their correct implementationDuring it, a review was made of the execution status of the planned actions, as well as compliance with the deadlines defined in the work plan. Likewise, technical advances related to the reinforcement of connectivity, the improvement of the energy autonomy of critical infrastructures, and the deployment of solutions aimed at ensuring the continuity of communication services in emergency scenarios were addressedThe parties also analyzed the following project milestones, including actions related to communication redundancy, strengthening the Archipelago's external connection routes, and the evolution of ongoing strategic projects. In this context, the commitment to continue with periodic monitoring and coordination was reaffirmed to facilitate the development of the different project phasesThe meeting also allowed for the consolidation of the existing collaboration framework between the Government of the Canary Islands and Telefónica Spain, with the objective of advancing in the reinforcement of telecommunications infrastructures and in the improvement of response capacity to possible emergency situations in the Canary Islands
