Arimotor Canarias, official dealer for the Canary Islands of the Kia brand, officially opened its new facilities in Lanzarote. The event was attended by Mónica Suárez, manager of the dealership, Eduardo Zavala, general manager of Kia Canarias and the owner of Grupo Ari, Andrés Izquier.
Eduardo Zavala was very pleased to achieve a highly competitive presence on an island so important to the KIA brand and thanked Andrés Izquier and Grupo Ari for their effort and commitment to such achievement.
Mónica Suárez stressed that the Lanzarote market has become a matter of utmost priority for KIA due to its rapid growth, so they took the step to reach customers in the most efficient and professional way possible, with a unique facility that houses all the services that an official dealer can offer, the sale of vehicles, original spare parts and accessories and of course an official after-sales service fully equipped to achieve the highest levels of quality and satisfaction for customers.
The facility consists of 2250 m2 distributed over 3 floors, including 600 m2 of workshop and 400 m2 of exhibition. In addition, an excellent human team of great professionalism, dynamism and an absolute identification with this brand that they represent, KIA.
The official KIA dealer in Lanzarote is located on Calle Escotilla, esq. Velacho, in front of the Chacón de Valterra.
Arimotor Canarias belongs to the Grupo Ari, which, as far as the automotive sector is concerned, is present throughout the Canary archipelago.
KIA is the latest bet of the owner of the Ari group, D. Andrés Izquier, who with his tenacity and perseverance has achieved an important presence of the brand in the Canary Islands.
The new Picanto
Always young, carefree and original, the new generation Picanto is already in the Canary Islands to encourage the A segment and further boost Kia sales in the Archipelago. One of its main weapons is its more sporty design, which highlights the 'tiger nose' grille flanked by more enveloping optics and, on the side, a profile with more aggressive lines that bring dynamism to the whole.
The interior also reformulates its distribution, the most significant being the intelligent use of its space and the quality of its finishes. The result is a spacious cabin and a generous trunk of 255 liters of capacity (50 more than the previous model), one of the largest in its category thanks, in large part, to a longer rear overhang.
Passengers have more headroom and legroom through solutions such as the redesign of the dashboard, which has been raised 15 mm. And as far as the occupants of the rear seats are concerned, they now sit in a more relaxed and natural way as their backrests have been tilted two degrees more.
The Picanto also evolves structurally to meet the demands of the European customer. A lower center of gravity, together with the widening of the wheelbase and the reduction of the front overhang have a very positive effect on cornering stability, in addition to a lighter rear torsion axle, as well as stiffer stabilizer bars and a McPherson-type suspension scheme on the front axle.
The naturally aspirated engines with indirect multipoint injection (MPI) of 1.0 (67 hp) and 1.25 l (84 hp), which come from the previous Picanto range, have been improved to increase their performance and responsiveness. Additionally, in order to further neutralize noise and vibrations, new insulating panels have been included in the dashboard and floor of the interior and absorbent foams in the A and B pillars.
Kia also wanted to make the Picanto the safest vehicle in the A segment. This aspiration is based on the use of advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) combined with the latest active safety technologies. All trim versions (Flex, Active and Spirit) come standard with six airbags (front, front side and curtain) and active safety devices such as Vehicle Stability Management through a sophisticated Electronic Stability Control; ABS brakes with brake force distribution (EBD) and assistance system (BAS); hill start assist (HAC) and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). As an option, the new Picanto can also be equipped with the new Emergency Braking Assistant (AEB), which increases safety when driving in the city.
Also standard on all versions of the new Picanto are the trip computer; remote central locking; front daytime running lights; front power windows; air conditioning; MP3 audio equipment with Aux + USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity with steering wheel controls, among others.
The new Picanto also introduces some of the most advanced technologies available in the A segment for comfort and infotainment. In the center of the dashboard has been placed a large floating screen of 7.0" that offers a navigation system with 3D maps, with the ability to fully integrate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems. For customers who want an additional level of comfort in parking maneuvers there is a rear view camera with guide lines for parking.
The new Kia Picanto, now available in the official Kia network in the Canary Islands, is the brand's commitment to offer design, sportiness, safety and connectivity in the 'segment A', all reinforced by a truly unique warranty of seven years or 150,000 kilometers.
