The Canary Islands has added 79 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, so the total number of accumulated cases in the islands now rises to 55,537 while no deaths have been recorded for the second consecutive day and the number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic remains at 764, according to data from the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government.
Regarding active cases, there are currently 2,064 (+38), of which 52 remain admitted to the ICU (+2), 227 are hospitalized (+3) and 1,785 are at home (+33). In addition, 52,709 people have overcome the disease so far after 41 canaries were discharged.
For its part, the Cumulative Incidence (IA) at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 40.76 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the IA at 14 days is at 80.29 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Until this Saturday, a total of 1,115,476 PCR tests have been carried out in the islands --2,133 in the last day--, of which 58,776 have been positive, which represents 5.27 percent of the total.
By islands, Tenerife adds 38 new infections and accumulates 24,274 accumulated cases, of which 1,263 cases are epidemiologically active, 422 have died and 22,589 have overcome the disease; while Gran Canaria has 22,431 accumulated cases (+26), of which 539 are active, 268 have died and 21,624 were discharged.
Lanzarote, meanwhile, accumulates 5,363 cases (+11), of which 206 are epidemiologically active, 49 have died and 5,108 have overcome the virus; Fuerteventura accumulates 2,303 (+2), of which 31 are active, 13 have died and 2,259 were discharged.
Likewise, La Palma has a total of 561 cases (+2), of which 22 are active cases, seven have died and 532 have overcome the disease; El Hierro remains with an accumulated 371 cases, of which one is active, four have died and 366 were discharged.
Finally, La Gomera continues with 233 accumulated cases, of which two are active, one person has died and 230 have been discharged.
