The central Government will contribute 15 million euros to the Canary Islands until next June, by virtue of an agreement reached this Monday between both executives, to finance the anti-crisis measures promoted by the community due to the effects of the war in Iran, as the VAT reduction approved for the rest of Spain cannot be applied in the islands.

This agreement has been made known by the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, and the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, after holding a meeting at the Presidency of the autonomous government.

The measures to compensate Canarias for the increase in prices will be approved this Monday in the Governing Council of the Canarian Executive.
