Seven deaths and 596 new cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands provisionally notifies 596 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus. The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 299,480 with 14,748 active, of which 33 are admitted to the ICU and 292 remain hospitalized. In the last hours, seven deaths have been reported, of which four were in Gran Canaria and three in Tenerife, pending validation by Public Health.

The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 421.15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 889.77 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 281 cases with a total of 136,980 accumulated cases and 6,398 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 113,547 accumulated cases, 216 more than the previous day and 6,698 active. Lanzarote adds 38 new cases with 20,328 accumulated and 651 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 14,795 accumulated cases, with eight new cases and 304 active. La Palma adds 24 new positives, bringing the total to 10,106 accumulated and 486 active. La Gomera has 15 new positives, bringing its accumulated total to 1,887 and has 141 active cases, and El Hierro adds 14 new cases, bringing its accumulated total to 1,836 and its active cases are 70.

To date, a total of 3,289,778 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 3,673 correspond to the previous day.

The Ministry of Health recalls that these data published on the Grafcan portal are provisional and are pending validation by the Public Health teams. In this way, the dynamics of the Coordinating Center for Alerts and Emergencies is followed, which does not receive epidemiological information from the Autonomous Communities on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Therefore, the data contained in this press release may vary once they are epidemiologically reviewed and consolidated by the General Directorate of Public Health according to the established protocols, so discrepancies may arise in the coming days in the updating of the data contained in the Grafcan website.
