The president of the Canary Islands Parliament is these days in Brussels, where this Thursday she chaired the first plenary meeting of the European Regional Parliaments. After this meeting with the presidents of the legislative assemblies represented in the Calre (69 regions from seven countries), Pérez, who has chaired this continental body since January, held a meeting with the vice-president of the Committee of the Regions and president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Manuel Moreno.
The president of the Canary Islands Chamber has conveyed to him the need for Europe to listen to the demands of the regions; something on which both leaders agreed. Pérez informed the vice-president of the CoR of the drafting of the manifesto agreed this Thursday by the Conference of European Regional Legislative Assemblies, which will be approved at the next Calre Assembly in July.
