The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has confirmed this Friday a new case of monkeypox since Tuesday, so since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there are 169 confirmed cases, of which 98 were detected in Gran Canaria, 64 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma.
All active cases are experiencing mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care, according to a statement. They have also reported a probable case, pending confirmation, notified in Tenerife.
The Ministry of Health's protocol classifies cases as probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if they only present clinical criteria, in which case it is considered a suspected case. EFE
