The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports three new cases and nine under study of monkeypox since Friday.
Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert, there have been 107 confirmed cases, of which 71 were detected in Gran Canaria, 34 in Tenerife and two in Fuerteventura, Sanidad specifies in a statement.
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.
There are also two probable cases, pending confirmation, reported in Fuerteventura; and seven suspected cases, pending confirmation, six reported in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife.
The Ministry of Health protocol classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if he only presents clinical criteria and in that case it is considered a suspected case.
