Canary Islands has registered this Monday five new deaths linked to the coronavirus, reaching a total of 16 deaths since the beginning of this crisis. In addition, the number of cases has grown again today, rising to 557 in the archipelago.
The new figure, updated at 8:00 p.m. this Monday, represents an increase of 76 new positives in one day, compared to the 67 that increased in the previous day. Regarding the detail by islands, the Ministry of Health will not make it public until Tuesday. In this regard, it should be remembered that the Ministry of Health is only providing an advance with the general situation of the archipelago at the end of each day, but it is at noon when it issues a single statement with the detailed data of the previous day.
In the case of Lanzarote, until Sunday night it had already added nine cases, after confirming six new positives in two days. However, this figure could now grow with the tests carried out not only on Monday but also during the weekend, since the tests are now being carried out in Gran Canaria and the results are taking longer to arrive due to the accumulation of pending tests.
